Season 1 Episode 16 TOW Two Parts, Part

ROSS: I don't know whether he's testing me, or just acting out, but my monkey is out of control. But, he keeps erasing the messages on my machine, supposedly by accident.

RACHEL: Oh, yeah, I've done that.

ROSS: And then, like three days in a row he got to the newspaper before I did and pee-ed all over the crossword.

RACHEL: I've never done that.

Bleh kind of day.... Training Day 1

I am still getting over this sinus/allergy cold thanks in part to the lovely California weather. Don't get me wrong I love how I can wear a tank top, jeans, and flip flops in the middle of winter, but the dry hot again, cold again weather is wreaking havoc on my sinus cavities. I thought I was on the verge of no more congestion, but I awoke this morning with a lovely stuffy nose. I am just thankful that I am not contagious.

Today embarks the start of my training. I hope there is not a such thing as being over prepared, because technically I could wait until May 17 when I would follow the 26 week training plan given by the Breast Cancer 3 day organization. To get me to May 17th I plan on doing my 4 mile walk slim DVD that I have started to do at home already. Of course there is some jogging, or "boosted walking", but hey at least it will get me moving.

Now if some of you are wondering if there is a walk near you head over to Breast Cancer 3 Day site <--- click. You can register as to be part of a team, or as an individual walker like myself. You can even register and volunteer as a crew member and help out with the walk. If you would like to donate and help me on my way to my goal then go to my profile page <--- click

What A Week!

As you all knew I was having gall bladder surgery Monday December 8th. I did and everything seemed to be going fine. I rested and recovered after and started to feel better. Wednesday I woke up feeling like I was having a gall stone attack, which is impossible (or so I thought) since I didn't have a gall bladder. Thursday I felt better but achy. Friday I had these dull aches but kept taking my pain pills. By 10pm that night the pain was intense and was not subsiding. By 7 am Saturday morning I couldn't take it and had Eric take me to the ER. They ran tests, which showed that my liver was inflamed. A stone could have been left behind and passed on it's own or a stone tried to pass and was blocked in a duct near the liver. Both these scenarios cause a liver to inflamed. They admitted me so they could monitor my numbers and see if they went down on their own. Sunday morning we were hopeful because the numbers looked to be dropping. Monday they went up again so they decided to an endoscopic procedure where they put a scope down in your mouth, throat and they keep going down to see if there is actually a blockage. They did this and swept a balloon through to flush out my ducts. Luckily after this procedure I felt a whole lot better. My numbers started to lower and today... Tuesday I was finally released!

Being home is a relief! I missed my home and my girls so much! It was a pretty scary ordeal that I hope I never have to go through again! It is time to get back into my blogging routine here! Thank you Lord for getting me past this tough time in my life!

***For those who have read this I got my days mixed up... will happen when you're stuck in a hospital for 4 days. Sorry for the confusion! It is fixed now.***

Love/Hate Relationship

To my dearest gall bladder,

Our relationship together is coming to an end Monday. It has been a roller coaster of a ride and will always remember the Good:

The 55 pounds you helped me loose.
That I actually like salads without dressing
My new love for jello
My new found respect for child labor, because in the end you get a beautiful baby.

With the good comes the bad:
My dependency on pain killers.
The pain I pushed through all hours through the night while your baby gall stones blocked ducts.
The many sleepless nights while my baby slept through the night!
The Thanksgiving dinner I had to do without!
SURGERY!

As you can see the bad outweighs the good, so at 9:30 am December 8th you will be removed from my life. I am sorry to see you go, but you knew this time had to come!

Sincerely,
Your former home!

A first for me!

I am not one to talk about politics, but I have to get this out! I am using my blog for therapeutic reasons just this once!

I will honestly say that I voted for McCain (I liked his ideas). I was disappointed yes, but I am moving on because I have faith God has a plan. As a nation I am proud, because as a nation we got passed racism and voted the first black man as the president of the United States of America. We or you all made history and for that I am proud!

I am a resident in the state of California and for the first time I am saddened and disappointed with this great state! We may have gotten over racism of ethnicity, but people still feel that they have the right to dictate how people should live! So what if a woman wants to marry a woman, or a man a man. Who am I to judge them? It isn't in my power to do so. There is a higher Judge that has this power and Him only! I am a Christian and Christ is my savior! The golden rule states "Treat others as you would want to be treated". We really need to start living by this rule! Not only is it in the Bible, but most classrooms have this as the number on rule to follow! We are told to love everyone, even our enemies. I believe God put us here to educate people about the word of God but not to force it down their throats! Once they hear it is their decision to take it how they want to take it. They will one day be judged and again I don't have the right to be that person. They aren't hurting me with this decision. I am honestly sick to my stomach that this state feels that we can dictate how people should live! I am God's child and I will educate others without choosing for them! As a teacher I know that marriage let alone gay marriage is not taught in the school. This was a scare tactic and that is it! It doesn't matter if I believe in the choices people make. They are the ones who are to live with it not me! We just took two steps back once again in the progress of this great nation! Let's make history once again and let everyone chose their own way of life as long as it isn't hurting others!

I am one to keeps controversial subjects to myself but as a parent I feel tolerance is getting lost in the mix with this! I teach my children to love everyone and I want to lead by example! One day my daughters could come up to me and tell me they are a lesbian. Will I stop loving them? No way! If they do I would hope that they have the same rights as everyone else!! Let's try and change history once again! I know it can happen!!

After the pregnancy roller coaster!

Since having Princess In Training I have had to deal with medical conditions on top of healing from my c-section. First I had a breast infection on the right side. About 2 weeks later I found a clogged milk duct on the left side, which wouldn't heal on its own. I almost had to have surgery to get rid of it, but luckily the antibiotics finally helped! I finally saw my body getting back to normal.

During my pregnancy I dealt with bouts of extreme upper-middle back pain that radiated right underneath my breast bone. Sometime I would vomit because of the pain. I went to ER twice for it. The first I was told it was a UTI and the second I was told it was my muscles stretching because of the pregnancy. My OB thought it could be kidney stones. For the remainder of the pregnancy I would put heat on my back every night. Once "P-I-T" arrived I figured the pain would no longer be a problem. A month after she was born I had the pain again. It lasted about 4-5 hours at night but always went away. I pushed through the pain and figured if it were kidney stones than I was fine. About a month after that I had the same pain. Pushed through it again and all was well. One week later again. Two days later again. At that point I figured I needed to see a doctor. I went in and he told me it sounded like muscle spasms. However, in the back of my mind I was thinking maybe gall bladder, because I started to see a trend that it happened after I had eaten something heavy. After telling the doctor this he still thought it was muscle spasms and gave me some pain meds for it. The next morning hubby and I went out to breakfast. I had a mushroom and spinach omelet and an hour and a half later I was in pain. This was the worst it had been and it was during the day. I got home in time to loose my breakfast and take my pain meds still thinking muscle spasms. Two hours later the pain had lessened. I figured I would take the time to rest, since the girls were with my mother in law. About 2 hours after that the pain came back full force. By this time I was fed up and decided to head over to Urgent Care. The doctor came in and I told her everything I told the other doctor. She tapped on my back and told me that if it were kidney stones I would have jumped from the table screaming. I then laid on my back so she could feel around my torso. As soon as she pushed on my gall bladder I was in tears. She listened to when this pain would happen and what I had eaten and made me an appointment to get an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed I have multiple stones and one was blocking a duct. I am now the next in a long line of family members that have had to have their gall bladder removed. With the sign of the times it is a pretty simple procedure. It is an outpatient type surgery, where they do 5 little incisions and take it out through your belly button... I always knew it was there for a reason! So, until then I am living off the most boring foods known to man. The highlight of today was getting a banana smoothie since that is the best tasting thing I have had in 3 days. My meals consist of mashed potatoes with no butter, jello, apple sauce and plain toast. There are more things I can eat, but I worry about the pain coming back and it is not fun! On a brighter note I am almost to my goal weight... not that this is how I wanted to get there. If you have had your gall bladder removed I know how you felt and this is not something I would wish on anyone!

What I learned from this is to not second guess your intuition. If you don't feel you got the right diagnosis get a second opinion just to make sure!

A day of being Random!

I have been super busy since Friday, so my blog has been lacking, entrecards are not getting dropped, etc. I have even had to schedule my posts so that I know I actually get a post out! So, I am hoping that things are settling once again so that I can get back on track!

Friday we went to Disney's California Adventure to do some Mickey Trick or Treating. We had a blast! Sassy was dressed up as Wednesday Addams (wait till to tomorrows Wordless Wednesday... befitting I thought) and man did she look the part. Princess In Training was the cutest ladybug there... I may be impartial, but it is true! We got our bags and went to the designated posts and got treats! Even us adults got a bag and filled it up because we weren't gonna share! We even took a picture with a wise cracking scarecrow! LOVE HIM! It was a long night but so worth it.

Saturday I got to see my little brother! He is getting cuter every time I see him! He has an obsession with cell phones, so being the best big sister I am I let him play with mine. He even lets other electronics try and talk into the phone. He is talking more and more and I am one proud big sis!

Sunday Eric went to Vegas for his football trip. I know this trip comes every year, but that doesn't keep me from feeling like a part of me is gone! My heart does grow fonder for those 2 and a half days. To fill the void I went and stayed with my mother in law since my father in law was on the trip as well. I took ALL my laundry and am almost caught up... a big accomplishment on my part!

Sassy is becoming more of my little worrier these days. We spend all day long reassuring her that she is fine, not poisoned, not going to die etc. She will miss out on fun things for the fear of what could go wrong. Saturday she was supposed to "camp" with her Brownie troop. Four hours later we picked her up, because she was too tired and missed us. She has her good days, but her bad days are really bad. Soccer seems to be helping with some of her anxiety. She is seeing that getting hit with the soccer ball, or getting pushed really isn't that bad. Sassy is even becoming a super soccer player!

"P-I-T" is growing so fast! She is now 2 and a half months and is becoming the biggest cheese ball! She smiles and coos all the time and only cries when she is hungry, wet, or tired. She is on a schedule... or what I call a schedule, which I never did with Sassy! She sleeps through the night the majority of the time, which makes this mommy feel refreshed and ready to start her day! She is recognizing faces and I swear is about to laugh any day now. I couldn't imagine not being home with her and missing all the little milestones!

Thousand Words Thursday: Looking at the Past!

This is a picture of Sassy at the age of 4. She was my pre-kindergartner, and just a ball of spirit (she still is). I choose this picture, because of the stuffed cat. That cat was in the dollar bin at Target (my home away from home). To this day this is one of her most favorite stuffed animals

*** Technically it is 11:08 pm on Wednesday, but Thursday to others. On a earlier post I mentioned I had a breast infection. (click here to read). That one is still healing and now I have one in the other one. This one is a clogged milk duct that won't relieve itself. I have been on antibiotics and doing warm compress. Nothing is working so tomorrow I get to have an ultrasound done on my breast. Hence the early post, because my day is starting a lot earlier than it usually does! Thank goodness this is my last child, because I will never have to worry about breastfeeding! ***

Common Courtesy!

*** Take a look above... my obsession of Friends is now in a weekly qoute in my sticky! Every Monday there will be a new quote!***

Dear fellow neighbors,

When you live in an old apartment building such as ours thin walls are in the package! No one expects complete silence, but there are common courtesies that come with sharing walls, laundry rooms, and space in general!

1. When you close a door, or window please do so with care! If your walls shake when you close them chances are mine will too!

2. If you know your neighbor has napping children have the common courtesy and knock lightly. Pounding my door will not get me there any faster, but it make me a little more annoyed.

3. When your TV wall is the same wall where your neighbors sit keep the volume at a standard level. Also, I know surround sound is awesome, but lets tone down the bass! Again... shaking walls are not fun!

4. Again I know surround sound is awesome, but don't you think 11 pm on a weekday is a little late to have it at max sound?

5. It is very cute when a really young child turns a light on and off, but when a bathroom fan is involved you are not the only one who hears the commotion. How bout we keep it to 5 times and not 20!

6. Walking on tip toes is not mandatory, but stomping your feet ALL the TIME is going over the top.

7. When doing laundry have the common courtesy to not leave your clothes in the dryer for hours. Others may need to wash clothes as well!

Thanks!
Your neighbor

Better Late Than Never!

Today was a long day, such a long day that I didn't get a chance to go on the computer! To this mommy that means it has been a rough day, because I can always sneak some internet time in here and there throughout the day. Princess In Training has been colicky so this blog comes at 10:31 pm. Excuse the shortness and the dryness, but this mommy needs some sleep!

So, I took the advice of a friend (thanks Tena) and have been jotting down a ton of ideas for future blogs, so watch out for some fun (at least I hope they are) reads in the near future! I am my own worse critic, so they may take awhile after I write and then rewrite them some more!

Hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday!

So Confused!

My sweet little Princess In Training is the best baby ever and I am blessed to be her mommy, however I am at my wits end! I feel like I just made the most unhappy, colicky baby ever! Yes, I did get one smile, but now when I see the smile on the brink of being exposed it turns into a blood curdling scream! She is rarely content and this has turned me into the one armed mom as well! I know this was going to happen, but I don't remember it being daily with Sassy! It has been 8 years, so maybe I am wrong. By the time Eric comes home from work I have been on my feet all day trying to get the princess content enough to get things done! She does nap. That is why I have the chance to blog. But these naps last for an hour at a time.

Now here is why I am confused. This morning she did the same thing... screaming, eating, screaming, paci, more screaming. I was getting frustrated and dear hubby told me to lay her down in the bassinet so she can talk to her friend the plaid. Now I do try this but I could you not she is usually crying withing the first minute. Well my little one is now fast asleep in her bassinet and not in my arms for once. I didn't rock her, coax her, there was no bottle, or paci in order to do this, just plain old getting oneself to sleep on her own. It is moments like this that get me all excited and then she takes that away and we start all over yet again! I am thinking of trying a new formula, because this mommy is exhausted and wants to enjoy both my daughters!

As I say that it is now time to move on to Sassy Princess! When "P-I-T" was born Sassy made the transition very well! It will be 6 weeks on Friday and the honeymoon is O-V-E-R! Now before "P-I-T" entered our world I have been trying to get Sassy more self sufficient because 1. there was going to be a baby and 2. she is 8 and I feel what I am asking of her is what an 8 yo should be able to do.

She should be able to:
Take a shower with no help
Pick up after herself with no help (yes she was spoiled, but we thought she would be our only)
After story time, and a hug and kiss be able to go to bed on her own.
Put her clothes away (I do fold them)

I always tell her that she is to do these because she is 8. She is starting to say things like "if "P-I-T" weren't here you would help me." Maybe I would, but I feel that making her do these things will help her be that much more independent. I think I am behind and should have done this a long time ago, but I thought... "Well she is my only child, so why not?" "P-I-T" came into our lives and I finally realized I was doing more harm than good and see this on a nightly basis. These struggles are there when Eric is home, but of course not as explosive. Our relationship has been a little strained and I hope with some talking and one on one time things will get better!

I always stay positive and know for every bad day there are twice as many good days!

Have a Terrific Tuesday!!

The Ants Go Marching

I was going to do a Wordless Wednesday, but with the week I have had I had a lot more to say... as you can see!

The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching one by one,The little one stops to suck his thumb And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching two by two,The little one stops to tie his shoe And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching three by three,The little one stops to climb a tree And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching four by four,The little one stops to shut the door And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching five by five, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching five by five, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching five by five,The little one stops to take a dive And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching six by six, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching six by six, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching six by six,The little one stops to pick up sticks And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching seven by seven, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching seven by seven, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching seven by seven,The little one stops to pray to heaven And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching eight by eight, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching eight by eight, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching eight by eight,The little one stops to shut the gate And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching nine by nine, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching nine by nine, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching nine by nine,The little one stops to check the time And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The ants go marching ten by ten, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching ten by ten, hurrah, hurrah The ants go marching ten by ten,The little one stops to say "THE END"And they all go marching down to the ground To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

I wish I could say I still love this song as an adult, but as I grow older I have learned to despise all things ants! These pesky, minuscule critters have decided to rampage our tiny apartment. What did I ever do to them... okay maybe I have stepped on a few, well make that a few hundred and throw some ant spray in. Maybe we deserve it after all. Wait a minute what about that time these ants decided to take residence on a bench that I just so happened to sit on while at the zoo as a kid? Yep ants crawling all over me... see why I can't stand them now?

So for the past week we have been on ant patrol! Nothing is safe at all. First it was our bathroom shower, which puzzled me. I thought they would want to stay alive than go to the one place that I could easily drown their tiny metasoma's (word for rear... looked it up). Next on their list? Our pantry... AHH they made it downstairs... no bueno! At midnight Eric wanted a little snack and went to the pantry to get out some cookies ( he is my night owl). Well he takes the cookies into the kitchen, looks down and (getting that itchy feeling now) has ants all over his hand (((shudders))). He spent the next hour tossing, spraying, spraying and tossing. Let's just say I have never seen our pantry that clean and organized! I guess it is a blessing in disguise? Okay not going that far! These ants now took a chunk out of our bank account to replace all that food!

Pest control came out and sprayed the complex, so I thought Woo Hoo ants are gone! Umm No... DAMN! Last night they ventured to the top of the refrigerator and took out all our cereal! Don't these dang bugs know that cereal is not cheap? Oh and don't let me forget that they also overtook our toaster... If this were a game of Risk I would definitely be getting my but whooped on. So we are now out of cereal and a toaster (Eric doused it with ant spray). Do ants think money grows on trees.

The hubby and I are now trying to outsmart them (((evil maniacal laugh inserted here)))! We went and bought those air tight containers that help keep food fresher longer. We are hoping that the ants will no longer have anywhere to go! Only time will tell!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday!

Rough Roads!

WARNING: Men may not want to read :0)
So far recovery has been excellent after having Miss Princess In Training. With that said, ending the breastfeeding has not. With Sassy I never started so drying up was a breeze. This time around my breasts became rock hard and I had to succumb to taking my prescription ibuprofen (I dislike taking medication) and ice them. Frozen corn became my best friend! Throw in millions of breast pads and the endless days of wearing a bra. I love to let the girls go free every chance I get! Well the other day while showering I noticed a lump in my breast. Right away worst case scenario comes to mind and I think OMG breast cancer. With that thought in mind I decide at that moment that I will not do chemo and I will have them just take the breast. Hey I can have reconstructive surgery and have the best looking breasts ever, throw in a tummy tuck and I am all set! I talk to my mom and she informs me that it could be a clogged milk duct. I tell my mom that is what I thought it was, which was a lie. I breath a sigh of relief inside and go to the internet for ways to get rid of it. Of course all the remedies have to do with breastfeeding, which I no longer am. So, I just heat the area with a warm compress. A couple days later it is sore to the touch of ANYTHING. I look in the mirror and *gasp* the area is now red with the lump being a little firmer. I call my doctor and went in today, because I want the pain to go away! It turns out I have a breast infection. I never new that existed and am now on antibiotics! Hopefully in a few days the pain will be GONE!

In a week and a half I can officially work out again! I am really looking forward to it, because I have a triathlon to get ready for! I will definitely be taking it easy, because this mommy is way out of shape! I am also looking into parent and me yoga! I would love to try it! Plus I can take the baby with me... double score!

Hope you are all having a terrific Tuesday!

Growing up is hard on Me!

Princess In Training is officially one month old today! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone! If only my pregnancy had gone that fast! In one month "P-I-T"'s personality has gone from very laid back to my challenging colicky baby. Sleep is the furthest from her mind. I was telling my hubby... Children will fight sleep and as adults we say BRING IT ON!! Princess In Training is growing so fast and I swear she is smiling more each day... or it could be gas.

On top of "P-I-T" being colicky Sassy was sick with a fever all day yesterday. I knew this would be coming with getting back to school. She is home today, so I know she doesn't push too hard and make herself worse than she was. I just hope no one else gets the bug as well.

Oh and on top of that my 8 year old as officially hit puberty... you don't need to clean out your ears because you have heard right! We were at her school ice cream social and noticed a funky body odor smell while she was on my lap. Of course I thought it was me, so I do the inconspicuous pit check. I sigh with relief knowing I have that nice flowery smell. At that moment Sassy raises her arm, so I sneak in there to take a whiff and WHOA! So, this weekend I taught Sassy that she needs to make sure to scrub her underarms and put deodorant on everyday! Of course during this milestone I am screaming inside knowing that she won't be my little girl that much longer! Is it abuse if I lock her in her room and throw away the key till she is 18, or maybe 50?

So, right now I have 2, yes 2 sleeping children!! On top of blogging I will be using this time to eat, because lately I rarely find that time! I never understood how people could forget to eat, but I do now! Sleep takes priority as well.

Hope you are all having a Marvelous Monday!

A Bittersweet Day!

I usually celebrate today with nothing but extreme happiness, except for this year. Today is my grandfather's birthday, sadly he is no longer on earth to celebrate it with us! My grandfather passed away on January 21, 2008 from cancer. I saw the whole process of his body deteriorate and this was the hardest thing I had ever had to go through. Also, throw in a pregnancy as well and you would have seen one big mess! This death was a milestone, not one I ever wanted, but one at that. My grandfather's death was the first death I had ever had to go through with someone who I was close with! I have had family members die, but none who I knew well. What hurt the most was that I was adding to the family and he was never going to meet his brand new great-granddaughter. I was very strong through the death for Sassy's sake, and used this time to console her the best I could! Sassy was so sweet that she even cried on behalf of her sister, because she would only know him through the stories we tell Princess In Training and through the pictures we show! To celebrate today Sassy, "P-I-T", and I bought flowers and took them to his grave. I had Sassy hold her sister while they were near his grave and I took what I think are the most cherished pictures I could ever have! It was such a beautiful site that I had a hard time holding in my emotions. I miss him everyday and wish nothing more that he is in heaven having the time of his life from beyond looking down on us and smiling that great big smile I cherished.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!!

You know what else... I rock, or at least Jennifer from The Dirty Shirt thinks so! I love her blog and I am so happy to see that she loves mine as well! Jennifer YOU ROCK and thanks so much!

I have 2 people that I think rock, and have wanted to bestow them with a blog award, but they seem to already have the ones I get... so this one is for you two:

Tena at Punky Monkeys: We go way back and hers was the first blog I ever encountered. I have known Tena since high school and am happy that she is still in my life as one of the greatest friends I could ask for! She was also the one who inspired me to start blogging! I find her blog so entertaining and love going to it every day! So Tena... I think YOU ROCK!

Jaime at Just Add Laughter: She has given me my first 2 awards! I met Jaime through Tena and am anxiously waiting for the chance to meet her and her girls! I go to her blog on a daily basis as well, and absolutely love it! So Jaime.... I think YOU ROCK!

So stop by their blogs and show them some love!

You all Rock in my book! Have a Terrific Thursday!

So much to do in so little time!

I so wanted to post a Wordless Wednesday of Sassy on her first day, but I cannot find my USB cord that goes with my camera! I am so frustrated, because I seem to be loosing so many things these days!

The first day of school went great! Eric had to work a day shift, which I always love, but what timing he has! I planned the night before so I was pretty much ready to bolt out the door when all was ready. When we got to school we stopped by to see my mom like always (she is the secretary at the school). I always make it a point to do this because it always cheers her up and takes away the stress for at least a minute. When we got to Sassy's line she is shy for a split second, sees her friends and off she runs. These friends she has are all boys! UGH... why oh why does she have to start so young!! (((crying inside))) So, every year I get less and less of a good-bye from Sassy when the teacher leads them to class. Last year I got a very quick, unemotional good-bye. This year I got a small wave, no words. Oh say it isn't so!!! I know I should be proud that she is very independent, but I wish she needed me just a little bit on these important milestones!! When school ended and she came to me I asked her about her day. She absolutely loves her teacher! I knew she would, I mean this teacher collects princess tiaras and lets the students wear them... HELLO so Princess Sassy!

Today with Princess In Training was a trying day for my first day with her while Sassy is at school. I had to wake her up twice from her being in a deep sleep in order to take her big sister to school and to pick her up. This threw her off all day and never took a really great nap. About 45 minutes ago I had a screaming baby (very rare on her part) who would not SLEEP! Poor Sassy had to get ready for bed on her own, a routine I treasure doing with her! I have to admit I was starting to feel overwhelmed for the first time since giving birth. This kicked in all my irrational fears, thoughts going through my head that are way out to another realm! (Now you know for sure Sassy gets it from me). I was on the brink of a melt down and call all the help I could, but I am proud to say I got through it with my sanity in tact. This may be the first time, but I know definitely not the last!

I really hope I can find my cord for my camera, because I have so many pictures of "P-I-T" and Sassy, including "P-I-T"'s first bath with Sassy taking all the pictures!

Luckily Eric will be taking Sassy to school so we can get back on track with our little Princess In Training!

Hope you have had a wonderful Wednesday!

Rough Waters!

Last night was the roughest night since Princess In Training was born. She was up at 1 am screaming the night away... a scream that I had never heard before. This was the first time I was actually frustrated, because I could not calm my little girl down at all. Finally after the battle of trying to feed her, change her, and rock her to sleep, she finally fell asleep. But hey lets not stop there and throw in the worse back pain. It could have been yet another kidney stone (thanks to the pregnancy). Yet this mommy could not sleep at all. At 8 am I woke poor hubby and gave "P-I-T" to him so I could get some kind of sleep. My loving hubby let me sleep and sleep and sleep the day away, which I don't like, but heck I sure did need the sleep!

I may be embarking on something so out of the ordinary that I am shocking myself as well. The other night Eric was online and came across a triathlon that will be taking place in our little city of Los Alamitos. Eric is game to do it and you know what? So am I. I have 3 more weeks till I can start working out again and I will begin training. This is something I have never done and would be such an accomplishment if I went through it. The triathlon is a 3 mile run, 12 mile bike ride, and a 400 yard swim. This will take place in February. Hopefully for once I will follow through with something. I will keep you all posted!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day!

Say It Isn't So!!!

Last night I came upon a sad realization... I am no longer able to fit in with early 20's crowd. Yes I am still in my 20's and maybe it is because I am wise beyond my years (oh so I would like to think) with a 8 year marriage and 2 children. So, last night I went to dinner for my cousin Candice's 21st birthday. We were amongst family and some of her friends. As I was sitting in the middle of two groups... The early 20's crowd and the wise mother's group... I would listen to both conversations from both sides. In the midst of listening and somewhat interjecting with the early 20's group I would have to stop and reprimand Sassy and tend to Princess In Training. I all of a sudden got this feeling that I was too old to even sit near them... This epiphany really hurt! I may age gracefully, but being too old to hang with the youngin's makes me want to find that fountain of youth. I know I need to suck it up and just deal with it, but my mom rubbed off on me and I do not want to grow old! I want to be forever young... and I will darn you!

I am one happy mommy today! Want to know why? I have my lap top back! When I laid it on my lap it still fits like a glove! No more fighting for Eric's in between his trading research and reading sports articles. Why have I been without? Because someone or something broke my power cord. So, the highlight of my day was when my mom left my house and said, "You have a package from Dell?" WOO HOO!! I ripped open that box so fast that I now have a paper cut in the works to heal. I have already transfered my bookmarks and am saving so much more. Plus I can download whatever I want, because this is MY computer!! My computer is also faster, because Mr. Eric's sites for trading, and charts, etc. make his computer SSSLLLOOOWWW! So, I am sitting with one sleeping child and the other 2 children... I mean one child and one hubby at Disneyland... blogging for the day!

The labor day weekend is upon us and summer is as we know is O-V-E-R! I am excited for school to start, but my favorite season is ending! I am not looking forward to fall and winter! Especially the flu season! As I have said before I have the biggest phobia of all things Flu! Luckily Sassy has the immune system of steel like her father. I see dry, cracking hands in my future, since yes I will be washing my hands every chance I get during this time! Okay not all things during these seasons are bad... I mean my favorite shows are coming back, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, snow in the mountains, more trips to Disneyland.

Speaking of shows coming back... who here will be tuning into watching the new 90210? I admit it I already have it set to record. I grew up watching this show... as I look back I probably shouldn't have at the tender age of 11, because when Sassy is 11 I sure as hell won't let her watch it then. I even had all the barbie dolls. My fave of course was Brandon... I just love the smart ones! Fave girl? Of course Valerie... I know not an original, but she was all things I knew I never would be... dangerous, confident, bad ass! Another show coming back that I have to admit I watch? OTH, aka One Tree Hill! I thought I would be waiting for October, but the CW network must love me (okay I know I am not that important in the world of television) for coming back in the beginning of September!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday!

This mommy is out!

I was going to finish a post I had started, but this mommy is feeling like crap! I have the aches, chills, and a headache that only passes when I take 600mg of ibuprofen. I am so happy Eric is home, because he is taking care of the princesses! He has been a trooper through this! Thank goodness I am no longer breast feeding (gave it 2 weeks, but didn't produce enough to keep Miss Princess In Training satisfied) because I don't have the energy to feed her. I am also trying to keep my distance just in case I am contagious. I really don't want to get my 2 week old sick! I hope you are all having a better weekend than I am! Hopefully I will be back to my old self tomorrow!

WHAT A DAY!!!

Today has been a day where I wish I could rewind and restart!!! It has been a lot of ups and downs! I will give you the rundown of recent events.

The story starts at about midnight the start of today. At this time I finally fell into a deep sleep which has been a normal bed time this pregnancy. At 1:30 am I woke up to take Angela to the bathroom. Before I could go back to sleep I waited to feel Emma move (one of my many anxieties this pregnancy). Well it took longer than I wanted, but once she started moving I was wide awake! I thought reading my book would make my eyes heavy, but nope and I almost finished the book. I look at the clock and it is 5am and I have to be up at 7:30am for my doctors appt. That is a grand total of about 4 hours of sleep.

So being completely exhausted I went to my appointment. The nurse checks my urine and blood pressure like normal. Well for the first time in my entire life my blood pressure was slightly high. Being sleep deprived and hormonal I start tearing up while waiting for my doctor to come in. He came and in and actually checked my cervix for the first time. I was not dilated but was starting to thin. He checked for her position and guess what this little booger did? She turned to the head up position. Yes that means she is breech. We talked about the options with were if she doesn't move...
1. Wait till I go into labor and hope she has turned
2. Have them flip her manually (already said no to this!)
3. Schedule a c-section for a week prior or 3 days prior to my due date.

Well I am kind of hoping for number 3 because my doc told me today that he will not be here the week of my due date. Well after all that they redo my blood pressure and it is normal once again! I am thinking it is sleep deprivation that caused it to spike a little. They did some more monitoring and checked her heartbeat and fluids. She passed with flying colors! Leaving the doctors office I was finally relieved and SO TIRED and just wanted to go home and sleep.

That of course did not happened. I get home talk to Eric about the events that happened and waited for my sis to call because she was going take Angela for awhile while I slept. Well at 11:42 am the day just got more eventful with a nice, good, old Cali earthquake! Yep... It has been years but today was the day that the earthquake decided to grace us with its presence. I first jolted, which I think scared me the most and these usually don't phase me. Well this was my first being a mom and springing into action, staying calm, all about keeping my baby safe moment. She of course was upstairs. I yelled for her and the poor thing is screaming asking what is happening. Poor Eric was in the shower getting ready for work. Angela got downstairs and we stood in the front door doorway. I gotta say it was the first time I ever watched the outdoors actually shake. My poor baby was shaking so bad that all I could do was calm her down. We went to my moms because with the lines of communication on hiatus I knew she would be worried about us. Plus with the mornings event she was already on edge.

To calm Angela down I told her all about my experiences with earthquakes. She seemed to relax a bit when I told her that I had been through quite a few and some being a lot bigger. Then as I am telling her these stories I came upon some interesting comparisons. We were both 7 when we went through our first earthquake. Our moms took us to our grandparents to hang out so we weren't all alone. Well I am hoping today finally calms down a bit and I am able to relax a little. To find out more about the earthquake head to my friend Tena's page... she has a link posted.

If you live in southern Cali and felt the earthquake... I hope you are all okay physically and mentally. For the rest I hope your day has been a lot less dramatic!!!
