Weekly Friends TV Quote!

Season 1 Episode 16 TOW Two Parts, Part

ROSS: I don't know whether he's testing me, or just acting out, but my monkey is out of control. But, he keeps erasing the messages on my machine, supposedly by accident.

RACHEL: Oh, yeah, I've done that.

ROSS: And then, like three days in a row he got to the newspaper before I did and pee-ed all over the crossword.

RACHEL: I've never done that.

A day of being Random!

I have been super busy since Friday, so my blog has been lacking, entrecards are not getting dropped, etc. I have even had to schedule my posts so that I know I actually get a post out! So, I am hoping that things are settling once again so that I can get back on track!

Friday we went to Disney's California Adventure to do some Mickey Trick or Treating. We had a blast! Sassy was dressed up as Wednesday Addams (wait till to tomorrows Wordless Wednesday... befitting I thought) and man did she look the part. Princess In Training was the cutest ladybug there... I may be impartial, but it is true! We got our bags and went to the designated posts and got treats! Even us adults got a bag and filled it up because we weren't gonna share! We even took a picture with a wise cracking scarecrow! LOVE HIM! It was a long night but so worth it.

Saturday I got to see my little brother! He is getting cuter every time I see him! He has an obsession with cell phones, so being the best big sister I am I let him play with mine. He even lets other electronics try and talk into the phone. He is talking more and more and I am one proud big sis!

Sunday Eric went to Vegas for his football trip. I know this trip comes every year, but that doesn't keep me from feeling like a part of me is gone! My heart does grow fonder for those 2 and a half days. To fill the void I went and stayed with my mother in law since my father in law was on the trip as well. I took ALL my laundry and am almost caught up... a big accomplishment on my part!

Sassy is becoming more of my little worrier these days. We spend all day long reassuring her that she is fine, not poisoned, not going to die etc. She will miss out on fun things for the fear of what could go wrong. Saturday she was supposed to "camp" with her Brownie troop. Four hours later we picked her up, because she was too tired and missed us. She has her good days, but her bad days are really bad. Soccer seems to be helping with some of her anxiety. She is seeing that getting hit with the soccer ball, or getting pushed really isn't that bad. Sassy is even becoming a super soccer player!

"P-I-T" is growing so fast! She is now 2 and a half months and is becoming the biggest cheese ball! She smiles and coos all the time and only cries when she is hungry, wet, or tired. She is on a schedule... or what I call a schedule, which I never did with Sassy! She sleeps through the night the majority of the time, which makes this mommy feel refreshed and ready to start her day! She is recognizing faces and I swear is about to laugh any day now. I couldn't imagine not being home with her and missing all the little milestones!

Superstitions...

Monica: He- he pooped in my shoe.
Phoebe: Which one?
Monica: Those cute little black ones I wear all the time.
Phoebe: No, which one? The right or left? 'Cause the left one is lucky...

Whether consciously or unconsciously we all have our own superstitions. Baseball players have their routine before getting into the batters box... Ever watch Nomar Garciapara's ritual? If not you should. Kids avoid cracks on a sidewalk in fear of breaking their mothers back. I will give Princess In Training a bath every night in hopes she sleeps through the night.

I was researching some superstitions last night and came upon a website that listed many superstitions/old wives tales. Here are a few that caught my eye!

Spit on a new bat before using it for the first time to make it lucky (What the ritual before you hit isn't enough?)

To prevent an unwelcome guest from returning, sweep out the room they stayed in immediately after they leave. (Is that why they keep coming back?)

If a black cat walks towards you, it brings good fortune, but if it walks away, it takes the good luck with it. (Better walk backwards)

To cure a cough: take a hair from the coughing person's head, put it between two slices of buttered bread, feed it to a dog, and say, "Eat well you hound, may you be sick and I be sound." (Does my doctor know this?)

Cows lifting their tails is a sure sign that rain is coming. (So it really isn't them swatting the flies?)

If the bottom of your right foot itches, you are going to take a trip. (Itch darn it... Itch)

If the palm of your right hand itches it means you will soon be getting money. (Now you itch darn it... ITCH)

A knife as a gift from a lover means that the love will soon end. (And then that lover will be a new resident of a 6x6 foot cell)

If you catch a falling leaf on the first day of autumn you will not catch a cold all winter. (If only I new this sooner... next year you will catch me under a tree)

It is bad luck to see an owl in the sunlight. (It's a good thing they are nocturnal)

Seeing a spider run down a web in the afternoon means you'll take a trip. (If the bottom of my right foot itches does that mean I can take 2?)

A watermelon will grow in your stomach if you swallow a watermelon seed. (Angela did have a reason to be weary after swallowing that seed)

The number of Xs in the palm of your right hand is the number of children you will have. (I bet you checked your hand)

Do you have a superstition... fess up you know you do!

What a Weekend!

PHOEBE: Doy! Probably right before she lost it!
CHANDLER: You don't get a lot of 'doy' these days...

Remember the word "Doy" and how it was just so overused at some point? I am guilty of that as well!

As I was watching Friends last night and heard this dialogue I just thought back to all the witty , or what we thought were witty, little catchphrases we used growing up...

There was:
Gnarly
Tubular
Whatever
Talk to the Hand
My Bad

I know there are so many more, so please enlighten me!

I listen to Sassy and her generation has them as well like the famous "Oh Snap" that I first heard on "That's so Raven." Sassy also does the "whatever major loser" that she got from "Camp Rock"... don't worry she doesn't do it at anyone. Don't want you to think that I am that kind of mom!

What witty catchphrases can you remember using?
****************************************************************************

Saturday was a great day! Sassy had her first soccer game of the season! Her skill level has just soared and I really can see how serious she takes the sport. We are a family of soccer players and makes her daddy and me so proud! We had been working on her aggressiveness, because last season Sassy would complain about the other team pushing. We of course told her to do the same, as long as it was in order to get the ball. Saturday she would get in there and fight for the ball instead of just running around it. The coach kept her in the whole game and she did not complain... well she did once when her coach moved her to mid fielder the last quarter and she wanted to stay forward. I noticed at one point during the game that as she was running with the ball that she was chanting something. I tried my best to listen, but with all the screaming parents I couldn't. After the game I asked her about it. She told me that she was telling the other team, "Don't mess with me". I just started laughing, because that is something I would have done when playing in high school. They lost 2-3, but I do have to say that we could have had 5 other goals scored, but her team likes to try and get the ball in a perfect spot and then kick the goal. Of course by that time the other team notices and the moment has passed. Soccer has gotten more competitive, but I am still thankful that both teams are great sports and not sore winners or losers! I have a feeling this is going to be a great season!

***************************************************************************
That day also marked a milestone that made this mommy so happy! Princess In Training has smiled! There is nothing like seeing that toothless, nothing but gums smile for the first time! Of course I keep trying to get her to smile again, but like they say "a watched child never smiles". She is cooing and looks like she is ready to become the chatty Cathy that her sister is! She loves trying to talk to her new friend... the plaid print of her bassinet. The minute I lay her in there she stops fussing and just lays there wanting to have the undivided attention of her inanimate friend. Don't worry Princess In Training the plaid just loves you and no one else!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

TGIF!

This week has been crazy busy! I didn't even have time to do a Thursday 13. I am so bummed, because I had so much fun doing last weeks! I am also suffering from writers block so enjoy my randomness!

I am one accomplished mommy! I finally cleaned and organized the WHOLE house! This has been a long battle! We have lived here a year now and I am now finally done. In December it was pretty much done, but then I found out I was pregnant and the fight with morning sickness came in. So on that note I could not keep up with the house since I was on my butt sick for the first 5-6 months of this pregnancy. Then entered the aches and pains that limited what I could do. Now that it is done I am one relaxed mommy!

Today I am exactly 37 weeks pregnant WOO HOO! Three weeks till my due date, however I do hope Emma decides to grace us with her presence sometime next week. Not that I can choose since Emma is the one who gets to decide this one! I do have to say that I dread this part of the pregnancy more! I really dislike playing the waiting game. I cannot make definite plans, because I don't know where I will be at that moment. A lot of my fellow August preggo mommies on CafeMom (great website for mommies...kind of like myspace but for women only) have had their babies and I am sitting here anxiously waiting to meet my new princess! I know it will be here before I know it.

Angela has been in rare form this week. I don't know what is in the water in San Fransisco, but Angela came back as sassy as ever! She is all attitude these days and this 9 month preggo mommy is on edge! So, I have had to spend all week reinforcing rules! I hope this passes SOON! There is only so much I can take!

I am off for a much needed nap! My mom had knee surgery today, so after the worrying and making sure she was settled in nicely and comfortably at home I am exhausted! I just hope she recovers fast!

Before I go... I was able to get gas today for $4.05 a gallon with a car wash. So excited! Plus now I am not embarrassed for the state of my car and brushing up against won't leave a mark on my clothes. So I feel accomplished once again! Have a great weekend! Tomorrow I am off to the OC fair with my hubby and Angela! Hope to post again soon!

Can't Sleep anymore... so I blog!

I fell asleep at an okay hour last night or first thing today (was around midnight) and found myself wide awake at 5am. It is now 5:52 am and I am still not asleep. So, that being said I thought I would blog some randomness!

First off... my friend Tena tagged me for a MEME (don't know what a MEME stands for... dense I know). Secondly I do not know 5 people on here, so I will be unable to tag a single soul (sorry for being a dead end).

This MEME says to write a 6 worded memoir. I have been thinking about this for a couple days and think I have something worth writing:

Children are a gift from God!

Now onto some randomness for the preggo:

I am 35 weeks pregnant today, so that means 5 weeks till my due date! So happy it is getting closer, and I will be able to hold my baby in my arms, but nervous about the impending labor. I now see why the human brain forgets pain after some time. If we remembered pain I bet we would have a lot of one child families! Usually I am pretty strong, but lately I have been have anxiety ridden moments... mainly at night when I cannot sleep.

Today I get my new cell phone. I am a true cell phone junky! I love all the fun things cell phones can do. My other one is on the fritz (my fault) and my husband has kindly agreed that I need to get a new one. With the end of the pregnancy coming to a close I need to be able to reach the outside world without waiting for my now cell to be nice to me and actually work for once. So, if I have ignored calls or texts it is because my phone battery drains like my energy these days.

So, last night was our weekly concert in the park night. It is a time of picnic while listening to great music. Kids run around and play and dance to the music. This is a summer tradition we have had now for about 4-5 years. Unfortunately last nights good music was tainted by drama that got the park patrons all excited (not happy excited, but oh what's going on excited). Of course where we sit was a front row seating of the spectacles. First, this poor teenager was brought limping over to the Sheriffs that always come to this every week. I look down and lo and behold I see his leg covered in blood. I shriek and turn away cause I hate the sight of nasty cuts and a lot of blood. Well the paramedics and ambulance came to take the boy to the hospital... I definitely saw stitches in his future. Now what gets me is the fact that people actually crowded around the boy just to see what was going on. They didn't care about his well-being but just had to know what was going on. Get a life people! I swear all I saw was the image of Brittany Spears being crowded by the paparazzi while being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

After that excitement died down a couple of officers come walking back to their squad cars with a man who looked to be drunk as a skunk. They take him to a car and start patting him down. Well this man did not like being violated, because he started resisting them. A couple more officers come including a park patron (don't know what he was thinking) get him cuffed and in the back of the car. All of a sudden I hear pounding, look over and the man has kicked out the window of the squad car. Sheriff pepper sprays the man, which in turn aggravates him more and he turns to do the same to the other window. What he was accomplishing I have no idea. I would have loved to see him try and actually climb out of the car from the window while handcuffed. About 5 minutes later 5 more cars bolt to the scene. In my head I am thinking "How many officers does it take to get a drunken man to the station?". After all this is Lakewood and what else do the officers have to do? So, this was a nice change for them... they actually got to get in on some action.

Poor Angela freaked out over it, even though we were laughing at the situation. If you there you would have found it comical as well. Eric and I made sure to tell Angela.. "This is what happens when you drink and use drugs (they pulled something out of his pocket not sure if it was drug paraphernalia)." I hope she remembers this every time she is tempted to follow any any of those acts! What she doesn't know are my teen stories and she NEVER WILL!!! What she doesn't know won't hurt her. Let's hope this tactic works!

So I have been wanting to do a Thursday 13 related to the one thing that can free my thoughts and calm me down after a long day. This would be the show Friends. Next week stay tuned for my 13 favorite quotes from when Rachel was pregnant with Emma (like the name... coincidence I think not).

I am now going to try and get a couple more hours of sleep. HAHA not likely. I will probably end up reading my book, "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin. This is a great read and highly recommended!

Good Morning to all of you early risers!
