Weekly Friends TV Quote!

Season 1 Episode 16 TOW Two Parts, Part

ROSS: I don't know whether he's testing me, or just acting out, but my monkey is out of control. But, he keeps erasing the messages on my machine, supposedly by accident.

RACHEL: Oh, yeah, I've done that.

ROSS: And then, like three days in a row he got to the newspaper before I did and pee-ed all over the crossword.

RACHEL: I've never done that.

Spoiled Spoiled!

I am first to admit that my Angela is one spoiled sassy princess! I don't say brat because she always appreciates the gifts she gets! Today I went shopping for some last minute items for my trip Friday. I but 3 items for myself and in return about 10 for my dear daughter. Before you say... "What in the world?" let me say that 6 were summer work books (Language Arts, math, writing, reading (fiction), reading (non-fiction), spelling and grammar). I may have over done it, but with the struggling we went through in 2nd grade I am making sure my little one is prepared. So I figure 20-30 minutes a day wouldn't hurt... excluding Saturdays and Sundays. 3 of the gifts were books... two from the Magic Tree House series and the first Box Car children. I read these when I was around her age and had to share this with her. I did buy her a new summer top... I couldn't resist it was just too cute! Everytime I go shopping I have to stop myself from breaking the bank on my dear daughter. Now I am adding another little girl to the mix... man am I in trouble!!

So I leave in 2 days to Sacramento to see Phantom of the Opera. Is it sad that I want it to come and go quickly, so I can be safely back at home? I hate flying... I know I am a broken record, but I do! I hate the fact that there are thousands and thousands of feet of nothing between me and the ground! I know that there is more of a chance of crashing in a car than on a plane, but I still hate it! Eric just tells me to relax and have fun! One of these days I will listen to him. I did get 2 books today so I will make sure I am prepared. You would think I was going on a 12 hour plane ride when in reality it is about a 2 hour one if that. Who knows what will happen when I actually go on my dream trip to Greece!

Have a Happy Wednesday!!

Happy Memorial Day

I just want to take time and remember our heroes who have fought our country and lost their lives doing it! My grandfather didn't loose his life fighting, but I still remember him today! I also want to remember my great grandmother, who may not have been in the military and died for our country, but took time out of her life by becoming a "Rosie the Riveter". I have other family members who I thank for fighting and am blessed that they are still here with us!

Happy Memorial Day!

Mommy~Daughter Saturday!

Yesterday I decided that my sassy princess and I would have a mother~daughter day! I didn't want to stay in the house all day, so Angela and I got ready early and had great day. First on our stop was getting mani/pedi's. As you can see in the picture above my sassy princess gets very relaxed when she gets her nails done! This is the 3rd time she fell asleep at the nail place. The owner tells me I am not allowed to come in without her, because of this! While I was waiting for Angela to finish I had the best idea to go and register for Emma. I was going to wait till Angela was out of school, but since I was out I thought today would be perfect. My mom even came with us. So our next stop was Baby's R Us. Angela was in charge of the scanner... man that girl can scan! We picked some wonderful things for little Emma. I even scored on some clearance clothes! Four outfits for under 30 dollars... SCORE! We then went to lunch at Lucille's, which got our energy hopping for a trip to Target. I registered here as well... mainly for the stuff that I thought was too expensive at Baby's R Us. Last on our stop was a trip to my grandparents. It is always wonderful to see them! Angela had so much fun playing with thier dogs as well! We had a great time being girly and doing what girls like best.... shop (we did fit in shopping too)!
Now all I need to do is plan the baby shower, or should I say help. With all the people kind enough to want to be involved who knows what I will be able to do :0)! This will be a great party to celebrate my little Emma!
I cannot wait to share Emma's pictures from the 3D/4D ultrasound we will have done on June 4th! I cannot wait to see what my princess looks like!
I am trying to write as much as I can now, because I am going to have a busy next few days, so let's see what do I need to blog about before I go...
Oh yes... I want to stop and remember a vetran of the army, who passed away January 21, 2008... My grandfather Burton Ballew! Not a day goes by where I don't think about him! I was always so fascinated by his army days. He was in WWII and saw a lot of stuff in Europe. He was also injured while fighting for his country. This injury over time got worse and worse and he had to live with migraines on a daily basis. He loved his family! You could never walk by him without recieving a kiss and a hug. The one thing I miss the most about him is the smell of his pipe. I may not care for smoking, but this smell I loved. Everytime I smell something similar I remember my grandfather! I know he is up in Heaven pain free and watching over his famly!!!
I LOVE YOU GRANDPA!!

3rd Trimester here I come

Friday May 23rd marks my entering my 3rd and last trimester. I enter it anticipating the arrival of Emma Constance! Today I folded all the clothes that I have that Angela has so kindly, without say, handed down to Emma. I only saved one box, but man does this girl have a wardrobe already! ;0) I am still in the midst of nesting and organizing. Angela's room is done FINALLY WOO HOO! I have a couple more things to do and I part ways with the room and I promote Angela to manage it on her own. I am willing to give up all control, which is hard for me to do, but a must. I can't clean her room forever. Next on my list is my room. This will be an uphill battle! I have been trying to organize our room since we moved in. Once this is done I can start on putting up the crib and putting her clothes away.

Tuesday was my 7 month appointment. He measured my stomach and Emma is growing right on schedule. My favorite part of my appointments... hearing her heartbeat. Something so simple always makes my day! The not so good part of my appointment... being told I had to take a glucose test. Well today was the day I went in. For those who don't know what this entails I have to fast, which means no food after midnight and I cannot eat till I get the test done. I went in drank my orange drink (not as bad as I thought it was going to be) and waited one hour before they took my blood. I made sure I was there when they opened the lab, because this pregnant woman needs to eat! I am now to the point of my pregnancy where I go in every other week. I am excited, because that means I do not have to wait a whole month to hear her heartbeat.

Tomorrow my sassy princess is recieving a Spartan Spirit award. I am so proud of her. This shows that she has worked very hard this trimester. She struggled a bit this year, but I knew she would thrive! She underestimates herself even at 7 years old, but again and again she proves that she is extrememly smart. Oh and last week she told her doctor what her favorite subject was... and the winner is SCIENCE. She will be going to a science camp in July that focuses on outerspace. Maybe I will have an astronaut for a daughter!

I just can't believe that in 14 days my little princess will be through with 2nd grade and enter the 3rd grade. I plan on working with her on comprehension and do some review, but other than that I am planning on having as much fun with her as I can, since she will be my only child for a couple more months.

I close this blog with my anticipation for next week. On Friday the 30th I leave for Sacramento and come back on Saturday! I am excited and yet scared. For those who know me... I HATE flying. I don't usually use the word hate, but I hate flying. Luckily the flight is about an hour long. I will make sure I have my ipod and a book (uplifting of course) for the flight! I am almost done with the book I have... Can anyone suggest a great book to read on my flight? Thanks in advance! I will post about my trip and seeing The Phantom of the Opera (the reason for the trip)! Hope you all have a wonderful Friday tomorrow!

P.S. Isn't the weather freaking crazy!?!?! I mean it was in the 90's a few days ago and today we are having thunderstorms! This is cali weather for you!!

My Sassy Princess

How is it my precious, innocent little princess has turned into my sassy, talk backer! She was once my little girl, who would come and sit on my lap and watch cartoons with me. They say 2's are terrible and 3's are horrible, so I call 7 the sassy years. I cannot wait till when she turns 8, because I am dying to know what stage this brings. Here is an example of her new found sassiness:

Eric and I have been trying to get Angela to be more accountable for own things and chores (I know I know we should have done this sooner). Well my little girl can leave a nice long trail of dirty clothes. You would swear it was the yellow brick road that led to the Emerald City. Picking up her room, toys, and clothes is on her list of chores. Last Thursday night I let her know that she needed to pick up her dirty clothes and wet towel from her shower. She asked if I would pick up her towel. I told her she was now in charge of picking up her dirty clothes and towels, and also that it is hard for me to bend over. She went and picked up her towel, turned around, looked me in the eyes and told me that I was just being lazy!! Woah Woah Woah... LAZY!!! I cannot believe my little princess... the apple of my eye hasn't gotten to this stage! I thought I had until she got into the teen years. This isn't supposed to happen yet! I am ready to lock her up and sheild her from the world! Just looking at her picture makes it hard to believe that my little angel could actually tell her mommy that!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope all you mom's out there had as great a Mother's Day as I had! I woke up to my daughter giving me a great big smile saying Happy Mother's Day! (we had a mommy/daughter slumber party) I got a great gift from her (my new fave TV show How I Met Your Mother season 1)! Then of to the in laws for brunch where I got to spend time with the in laws, mom, Angela, DH, and sister Ashley. The adult women went off to the movies to see Baby Mama (hilarious I might add)! For dinner we BBQ'd at my mom's! After playing it at a friends DH went on a mission and found Mario Cart for the Wii and 3 extra wheels. ( The best game EVER!) So I ended the night racing my DH, DD and sister! My last gift was my handmade card (my fave type of gifts) from Angela (see above). Here is what it says:
Mom I love you!
I love you. You love me. It is Mother's Day. May all your dreams come true. Make a wish. Let it go. Now go to bed and your next day will be...
COOL!
This melted my heart! I had the best day! Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!!! MUAH!!

99 bottles of beer on the wall!

So, I have reached 99 days till my due date! WOO HOO! I will be 7 months on May 23rd and I enter my 3rd trimester! I am so happy it is coming down to the final lap! I am so done with being sick. I am overwhelmed with so much that needs to get done around here! I am in my nesting phase and want to rip this place apart and do a overhaul of unneeded CRAP. I know I have 3 months, but the more I can get done the happier this mommy will feel!

Emma is still giving me a run for my money! Last night she had me up all night long with nausea and some vomiting (TMI I know but if read you will live through all the gorry details MUAHAHA). After 4 hours I finally got to sleep. I know Emma you are just getting me ready for those sleepless nights ahead!

Angela is coming up on the last month of 2nd grade! I cannot believe how fast she is growing up! She is an amazing girl and I am the luckiest mommy in the world to be able to raise this sassy girl. She has made friends with the kids who moved into the apartment next door. They are about her age (boy and girl) and makes sure her day revolves around playing with them. I am so glad there are kids for her to play with here! She has so much fun and comes in tired (what any mom wishes for)! I got to say with her outside this mommy/daughter duo fight ALOT less even when she comes in.

Manic Monday!

What an accomplishment a blog two days in a row? With my sassy Angela eating I have a few moments to fit this in. Today I feel like an accomplished woman! I fit 2 loads of laundry in this morning before heading to work. This is a big deal since apartment washer and dryers are a pain in the ass to use! I subbed for a 6th grade class. I know half of them from my computer class teaching days. I always have so much fun with my middle schoolers! It's nice to be able to teach and still joke around with them too! I cannot wait till Thursday! I get to see my 8th graders! They are my faves (I know I shouldn't have favorites, but if you just got to know them you would love them too!)! I have one particular student who always makes me smile and laugh. He has and amazing personality (no wonder he is ASB prez).

I love this series! The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books are so good that I seem to finish them in 2 days. I am now on my last installment and it is bittersweet! I am excited to finish the story, and yet bummed that I will not have anymore to read! I read The Other Boleyn Girl before reading the third one and had to use this series to perk me up once again. If you are pregnant DO NOT read The Other Boleyn Girl until you have that baby in your arms. I was an awesome book, but man did it put my pregnant mind through the ringer! I was supposed to read A Thousand Splendid Suns next for a book club, but my MIL told me that the story tended to be depressing. I thought after the Boleyn book I need to read something heartwarming. This girl can take only so much heartache! I am determined to read it, but I will have to wait a bit. Well here is my manic post for the day. Oh wait did I mention I actually cooked dinner... Angela was so happy to have something other than double noodle condensed soup! Tomorrow on the menu... Baked Chicken... this mom is really cookin'!
Hope y'all (that's right I said y'all)... had to insert a Friends quote in parenthesis (more to come on Friends later... I am a FREAK!!) have a great Monday, or better yet Cinqo De Drinko... I plan on drinking it up next Cinqo de Drinko! Night Night!

My new toy!!

After asking for one for awhile now I finally got my new digital camera! After my dear Angela dropped my Kodak one I found out I was pregnant. I told my dear husband that I needed a camera so I could take pictures of my little princesses. So today I headed to Target to get my camera (a little mother's day gift for moi). I was going to get the cool pix bundle set, but I laid eyes on this one and... WOW this camera can ZOOM!!! So I tested it out at a wedding I attended tonight. I am so in love with this camera! So, had to share with you my new toy!
So now please tell me that my sassy 7 year old will grow out of this sassy stage! She is in rare form these days where mommy is ready to send her off to a Swiss Boarding School! She is at the stage where whatever I tell her means mommy has to do the same... Uh I don't think so "Not the mama". When it takes 15 minutes to brush some teeth you know things are not going the way I planned. I am not only punishing her, but me as well. With no games, TV, computer, or even art I am screwed. Yes I have taken all away once... I think I was the one punished! I am looking forward and yet afraid of her turing 8 years old. I am hoping with her little sister around she will calm it down a bit. Oh the joy of a daughter who is as sassy as her mommy! I think we spend way too much time together!
