The day we all came together!

September 11, 2001 marks a day of tragedy that pulled a nation together! Every year on this day I look back and remember what I was doing that day.

That day I woke up to get ready for school. I was going to the local city college and had my environmental biology class and philosophy. Sassy had turned a year old a month earlier as well. I walked into the the living room where my husband and mother in law were watching the news. The first plane had just hit. I didn't know what to think and honestly wasn't scared or angry or anything at that point! I was very naive about the whole thing. I went to my biology class where we talked a little about it. No one knew that any of the buildings had collapsed. I got to my philosophy class a little late where our instructor had the TV on and the whole class just looked shell shocked. When I sat down I saw that both buildings had collapsed and the replay of people jumping out of these monstrous buildings to make the end come that much faster! I was just shocked that anything like this could ever happen! This is when I learned about terrorism and how someone could have that much hatred to kill so many innocent people! People lost friends, wives, husbands, children, mothers, husbands, family members!

In honor of this day my family and I attend our local Patriot Day concert! It is a big deal and always crowded, which still shows how patriotic our country still is! One day I plan on going to New York and going to the site of the Twin Towers!

If I had to I'd pee on one of you!

You may think that the time I spend watching FRIENDS could be put to better use. That may be true, but then I wouldn't come up with some random blogs! As I was watching Friends last night I realized that I sometimes learn some useful knowledge.

Chandler: And then Joey remembered something.
Joey: I’d seen this thing on The Discovery Channel...
Ross: Wait a minute! I saw that! On The Discovery Channel, yeah! About jellyfish and how if you... (stops suddenly and turns to look at Monica) Ewwww!! You peed on yourself?!
Phoebe and Rachel: Ewwww!!
Monica: You can’t say that!! You-you don’t know!! I mean I thought I was gonna pass out from the pain! Anyway I-I tried, but I-I couldn’t...bend that way. So... (looks at Joey.)
Phoebe, Ross, and Rachel: (turning to look at Joey) Ewwww!!
Joey: That’s right I stepped up! She’s my friend and she needed help! And if I had too, I’d pee on anyone of you!

When I watched TOW the Jellyfish (Season 4 episode 1) for the first time I actually learned something that I could use in the real world! In this episode Monica gets stung by a jellyfish. Well as you can see there is talk about someone peeing on her sting. The reason pee works is because the ammonia in urine takes the pain away. I also learned that it takes strong type of friendship to be willing to pee on someone, or also be peed on by someone. It puts a new spin on the saying:
Friendship is like peeing in your pants,
Everyone can see it,
But only you can feel it the warmth of it.

I hope all of you out there has at least one friend out there you are willing to pee on in order to save them from the pain of a jellyfish sting. To all my friends out there... Thank you for being the pee in my pants!!!
